EARN YOUR DEGREE IN AVIATION AT EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY; UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY “GLOBAL AVIATION DEGREE PROGRAM”; DODGE CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE “FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM” WHILE COMPLETING YOUR HELICOPTER FLIGHT TRAINING AT UNIVERSAL HELICOPTERS



  1. The new contract with UHI simplifies the path for students seeking helicopter flight training while enrolled in Embry-Riddle’s Helicopter Flight or Helicopter Operation and Safety minors.
  2. The academic curriculum taken at Embry-Riddle helps prepare students seeking a career in the helicopter industry.
  3. Students will study aviation safety, environmental operations, crew resource management, flight management systems, flight planning, and advanced helicopter operations. Specific topics will include low-level flight planning, mountain flight, night-vision device operation, operations in adverse weather, and the management of operations, training, personnel, and maintenance.
  4. Additionally, this agreement will allow students who are military veterans to receive the appropriate Veterans Administration benefits to attend Embry-Riddle and take helicopter flight training at Universal Helicopters. This agreement allows students enrolled in the program the opportunity to receive the appropriate student financial aid and VA funding to assist with the cost of their training. This program allows veterans who qualify for the Post 9/11 “Yellow Ribbon” GI Bill program to take their helicopter flight or their fixed-wing flight at Embry-Riddle.
  5. ERAU/UHI provides helicopter training for students to obtain the Private, Commercial, Instrument, Certified Flight Instructor, and Instrument Certified Flight Instructor certificates.
  6. All students in the ERAU/UHI training program will attend the Prescott campus, which offers them the additional benefit of training in high-density altitude conditions/high-altitude environment, an experience most pilots can obtain only at extra cost.

WHAT IS THE UVU GLOBAL AVIATION DEGREE PROGRAM?

  1. It is the distance-learning provider for Utah Valley University (UVU).
  2. It is an accredited university degree program.
  3. UNIVERSAL HELICOPTERS provides your Helicopter Flight Training.
  4. G.A.D.P has Regional Accreditation.
  5. Students that are part of the UVU Global Aviation Degree Program will have the same access to student services as students attending classes at the Utah campus. This includes job placement, recommendations, career counseling, graduation assistance and financial aid.
  6. Existing UVU students can apply for scholarships to help finance their flight training at http://www.uvu.edu/financialaid/scholarships/ using UVU's Roger L. Vincent Aviation Scholarship

HOW DOES THE UVU G.A.D.P. WORK?

  1. First you will complete all of your flight training for your Private, Instrument, Commercial, Instructor & Instrument Instructor certificates and ratings.This will take approximately 6-12 months depending the students ability and the amount of time and effort applied.
  2. Next, you may begin working as a professional helicopter instructor while completing your remaining courses on-line. Starting wages approx $23 to $25 per hour.
STUDENT FINANCING IS AVAILABLE - DEFERRED PAYMENTS ON APPROVED CREDIT

WHAT IS THE DODGE CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AVIATION DEGREE PROGRAM?

  1. It is the on-campus learning provider at Dodge City Community College
  2. It is an accredited university degree program that allows you to complete all of your courses on-campus as you receive your flight training.
  3. UNIVERSAL HELICOPTERS provides you Helicopter Flight Training as part of the Flight Instructor Program.
  4. You will complete all of your flight training for your Private, Instrument, Commercial, Instructor & Instrument Instructor certificates and ratings in parallel with your academic studies in five semesters over a two year period.
  5. Students that are part of the DCCC Flight Instructor Program will have access to all student services at the College including job placement, recommendations, career counseling, graduation assistance and financial aid.
  6. Housing available, tuition assistance possible for college courses
